Lady Mermaid
Following on from yesterdays post here's a recent polish purchase I've been very much enjoying.. but don't judge my cuticles by these photos.. they'd had a rough few days of painting a bathroom floor ahead of this paint job! For those of you who love the effect of glitter polish but hate taking it off these foils from essence as super sparkly with a hint of holographic something to them and no more difficult than a frosty finish to remove. I actually wish I'd picked up some more of these but I have some other cool effects to try out next so keep your eyes peeled. I've applied this a few times now and to get an (almost) opaque, bottle colour you need at least 3, maybe 4 coats. Ideally you want to apply this over the top of a bolder blue (or green, purple.. etc if you want something a little different) to get a really good finish but I guess it depends on what you like. I'm not in to a sheer colour but you could get a wash of sparkle with just a coat.
I tried to get it from different angles to show off the slight duo chrome effect it has but failed. I painted a little on to my sons toy car (it's a thing he's taken to asking of me.. almost all of his cars have a stripe of something down them) and my husband was commenting on the colour change when they were playing I just can't quite capture it on film. It can look bright blue, turquoise and even purple depending on the light.. very cool for a £2.00 bottle of polish, I'm sure you'll agree.
