Holy Grail Nails
So recently I've had a lot of questions about my nails, I'm not sure why but I do happen to have discovered two absolute gems that I thought it was about time I shared with you. I'm pretty lucky to have quite long nail beds so my nails can be short but they don't look it - my own Mum often accuses me of wearing falsies - however I have always envied those girls with seemingly perfect cuticles. Mine are always dry and flaky and no amount of orange sticks or hand lotions seemed to remedy this. I'd heard a lot about Sally Hansen's Cuticle Remover a while ago but seemed to remember it being a US only product and I never made any real effort to track it down but when I spotted it in my local cheap makeup shop I had to buy it. I now wish I'd bought a few as I've since been back and they sold out but it turns out Superdrug stock it so for those of you wanting to give it a go, here's the link. It's not uber cheap but it will last you and you will LOVE it! I'm not 100% sure what exactly it does but I put it on my cuticles, leave it for a few minutes and I seem to be able to magically rub them away. It's probably something really gross like the chemical equivalent of those fish eating the dead skin on your feet but it works, I'm telling you! The other wonder product I'm raving about recently is The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue. It's nice as a foot cream, does the job and all but on my hands it's some kind of miracle. The Sally Hansen stuff gets rid of the flaky, dead skin and the foot rescue softens everything that remains.. it's the closest you're going to get to a professional manicure at home without the scary tools and risk of nasty infections.
If you're interested in seeing my routine in action you can watch this video, you'll get a better idea of what I'm talking about with the cuticle gel as it's tough to describe but watch it, don't watch it - you need that product in your life! My only other must have nail thing would be Seche Vite. The fastest drying, glossiest top coat you will find, I am genuinely sad when I run out and don't have a back up. Superficial times over here, guys but it's true!
