Lumene Skin Tint
I cannot believe I haven’t posted about this product here before. I mean, if you google it, the first two videos listed are my reviews!! So in the interest of reviving the beauty part of this once beauty blog, it seemed like a good place to start. I was sent this originally a couple of years ago and man did I make that jar stretch. It felt like the most luxurious makeup product but really, it’s skincare with a hint of perfection.
I’m going to break this one down by name because it’s lengthy but also entirely appropriate and gives us some snappy bullet points for you TLDR’ers.
Invisible Illumination
If you like your makeup to look like skin, this is a winner so far. It’s translucent so it’s not going to hide anything but it does truly give you a lit from within quality while evening tone and adding a whisper of coverage.
Instant Glow
This feels like keyword marketing because it’s so wordy but also accurate. As quick to apply as moisturiser because you don’t have to worry about blending and the finish is dewy, hence the glow.
Fresh Skin
This is the fun part, it’s COLD. I cannot tell you how, perhaps it’s the Pure Arctic Spring Water and Nordic Algae listed in the ingredients but seriously, just sitting in my makeup bag, when I put it on my face it is cool and refreshing. I cannot think of a nicer feeling when applying a quick base in the morning.
Tint
I mean.. obvs. It’s a skin tint but I couldn’t just leave that bit off, could I?

It’s pricey but given that this is skin forward product I don’t feel so bad about the splurge. Skincare it one place I’m willing to spend as I get older. The only real con for me is that the ‘use by’ date is legit. Perhaps this is the more natural ingedients, perhaps it’s whatever magic makes it cold but after 12 months it didn’t smell like I wanted it on my face anymore. Totally fair, it should be used in that time and I will not save my new jar for best, I will use the nice things rather than allowing them to spoil. It’s just worth noting for any of you (like me) who are used to keeping your foundations well beyond their recommended time frame, this is to be used!
I have bought and been sent a lot of things over the years and it’s rare that I repurchase things so take that as you will but there’s a very specific person I think would love this. I have fallen out of love with makeup (foundation specifically) since lockdown. I can’t be bothered, I barely go out, my skin has changed. I know it’s anti-feminist to admit it but when I feel pulled together, when I’ve done my hair and put on some mascara I do have more confidence and I’m probably more pleasant to be around as a result - but I don’t have the enthusiasm for the whole thing every day. ENTER LUMENE SKIN TINT. This, a bit of mascara and some lip balm.. might as well have a full face on.
Things have changed, I still like to do it up here and there but my day to day looks very different now and I think this is the post 2020 product a lot of us have been looking for.
